PROJECT_01 // DESIGN-VALIDATE-BUILD-TEST REPEAT

FORMULA SAE:
ANTEATER FORMULA RACING

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Anteater Formula Racing is a student-built Formula SAE team at UC Irvine. I joined the team in 2023 as a chassis design engineer and worked on the design and development of the 2023-2025 vehicle "GASTLY". Reducing weight and maximizing torsional rigidity over the previous car was the main goal of this year's design. Aside from designing the chassis in SolidWorks, I also performed torsional FEA simulations in ANSYS, and worked on the metal fabrication, assembly, and welding of the chassis.

My second year on the team, I had the role of Chassis Lead, where I led a team of 5 to focus on the development of the next iteration of the car while getting the previous year's car ready for competition. The new iteration, named "BANSHEE", mainly focused on improving the manufacturability of the chassis based on lessons learned from the previous year, weight reduction, and improving overall packaging for other subsystems.

Currently, as Chief Engineer, I oversee project development across 8 subteams as we finalize design and manufacturing of the 2026 competition vehicle.
